What started out in 1993 as a backyard art show and sale with 6 vendors and a few volunteers has grown into an ever-changing festival featuring approximately 60 vendors that attracts over 3,000 community members and visitors from near and far! The spirit of the day is charged, oozing with a celebratory vibe; our vendors have a huge variety of mediums ranging from oil and watercolors, pottery, jewelry, garden art, glass wear, wood, metal and up-cycled products. Vendors consistently comment on what a well-organized event it is and so much fun!
The festival has been a finalist in Tourism Saskatchewan’s Community Event of the Year out of hundreds of nominations and the winner of Fort Qu’Appelle’s Chamber of Commerce “Community Involvement Award”.
This summer, on Saturday. August 3, 2024 the “Fort” will be the site of the 28th Annual celebration of the arts. On top of the amazing arts vendors, there will be a variety of Food Trucks, the ever-popular Children’s area, top-notch entertainment and a craft beer and wine garden. We also will feature an adult art project.
Come out and have a wonderful day at the festival and while in town, soak in the beautiful Qu’Appelle Valley Scenery; don’t forget the kids’ swim suits as the Splash Park and beach is just steps away from the Festival Venue, check out the Museum that traces the rich history of the area and visit the awe-inspiring Treaty 4 Centre on the east side of Town.
