Erin + Sarah

Erin Lamb was born and raised in Indian Head, SK and has been a music enthusiast her whole life.  Her love of singing started in high school choir and she added many musical instruments to her life starting with flute and moving on to guitar, Irish penny whistle, Irish flute, ukulele and most recently, mandolin.  Erin started writing songs in her early 20s and played on the young performer’s stage at the Winnipeg Folk Festival.  She hosts a monthly Open Mic in Indian Head at the Gallery Coffee House.  Erin is excited to harmonize and share the stage with her childhood friend Sarah and hopes the sweet folk stylings will be enjoyed by the patrons of the Midsummer’s Art Festival.

Family, Friends, Music, and Art - in my opinion life is a matter of the heart. This is something Sarah Elgren believes and works every day to live by. Sarah has been singing in some form or other since she was ten years old. From voice lessons to choir, musical theatre, music festival, dinner theatre, talent shows, jam sessions, weddings, funerals, Regina Summer Stage and the Saskatoon Fringe Festival; Sarah is no stranger to the stage. She is also no stranger to her partner in song, Erin!

Erin and Sarah were childhood friends born in Indian Head. Having not seen each other since their youth, they recently reconnected and discovered their shared love of music. Both accomplished musicians, Sarah’s soaring soprano harmonies complement Erin’s artistic melodies and together their voices weave a beautiful musical tapestry that will leave you wanting more!

Meet the performers:

Kara Golemba Trio

Some songs take shape in stillness, under open skies, and within the presence of those who listen deeply. The Kara Golemba Trio may be newly formed, but its roots run deep and now interconnect: Kara’s years of songwriting and solo performances: Karley Parovsky’s wide-ranging experience in orchestras, folk ensembles, and classrooms; and Darnell Stewart’s textured guitar work alongside some of the prairies’ most beloved artists. Their sound emerges, blending Kara’s sultry vocals and rhythm guitar with Karley’s expressive violin and Darnell’s atmospheric layers. The trio creates music that feels honest, intuitive, and unforced.

They understand that the soul of a song is often found in its texture, not its sheen. Though this is the beginning of their chapter together as a trio, their sound feels grounded; anchored in experience, and continuously unfolding.

Phoenix McKenna

Hailing from Fort Qu’Appelle and igniting stages across the globe, Phoenix is a multi-award-winning, world-renowned performing artist whose sound knows no boundaries.
